This feature, available in both OCBC Internet Banking and the OCBC app, lets you dispute incorrect or suspicious transactions seamlessly.
Gives you protection against unauthorised transactions
Being able to dispute transactions ensures you are not liable for card transactions that were not made by you (provided that they had not been authorised via OTP or OCBC OneToken, or that your card had not been lost/stolen and used in person).
Provides recourse when merchants fail to deliver
Disputes provide you with recourse in instances where merchants fail to deliver or deliver defective merchandise, or when dissatisfactory products or services are rendered.
Protects you from billing errors
The ability to dispute transactions protects you from billing errors.
- Dispute transactions easily via OCBC Internet Banking or the OCBC app.
- If you spot an unauthorised transaction on your card statement, report it to us within 7 days of receiving the statement or immediately upon receiving an SMS notifying you of the transaction.
- So we can assist you in reporting the unauthorised transaction to the relevant card associations (i.e. Visa or Mastercard), do provide the information or supporting documents we request.
- The fraud-related dispute rules relating to unauthorised transactions state that you can dispute up to 35 Visa transactions and 15 Mastercard transactions at one go. There are no dispute rights for transactions that had been fully authenticated, such as via OTP. All decisions are subject to the sole discretion of the card association.
