Attractive real-time exchange rates

The online foreign exchange function is only available between 8am on Monday and 11.59pm on Friday.

On weekends, you will see an estimated foreign exchange rate when you set up any foreign exchange transaction involving SGD or USD. If you decide to make the transaction, we will process it the next working day at the prevailing foreign exchange rates.

Foreign Currency Deposits

1. Foreign currency investments or deposits are subject to inherent exchange rate fluctuation that may provide opportunities and risks. Consequently, exchange rate fluctuations may affect the value of your foreign currency investments or deposits.
2. Earning on foreign currency investments or deposits may change depending on the exchange rates prevalent at the time of their maturity if you choose to convert.
3. Exchange controls may apply to certain foreign currencies from time to time.
4. Any pre-termination costs will be taken and deducted from your deposit directly and without notice.
5. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.

If you do not have a Global Savings Account, you will be prompted to open an account instantly within the OCBC Digital App or Internet Banking. You can also do this at any OCBC branch.

*The earning of interest rate only applies to Australian Dollar (AUD), New Zealand Dollar (NZD), United States Dollar (USD) and Chinese Yuan Offshore (CNH). A minimum end balance of $5,000 in the respective currency is required daily to earn the interest rate. Find out more here on the breakdown of interest rates.

Rate Alerts and Auto-Execute Orders are only available on the OCBC Digital app.

Rate Alerts: Do note that there will be no currency exchanged. A Rate Alert will be valid for 30 days after creation. If the rate is not met, the Rate Alert will expire. You may renew it afterwards.

Auto-Execute Orders: If you wish to exchange currencies at a preferred rate, you can create an Auto-Execute Order for a predetermined amount to be exchanged automatically when your preferred rate is met.

OCBC ATM network (Malaysia / Indonesia / Hong Kong)

• Service charge is waived.
• A foreign exchange admin fee of 3.25% applies for cash withdrawals from an SGD-denominated account, except for cash withdrawals in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) from a Global Savings Account.

Other overseas ATMs

• No foreign exchange admin fees will be incurred for cash withdrawals in AUD, CAD, CHF, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD and USD at any ATM in the country that the currency is denominated in, as long as there are sufficient funds in your Global Savings Account.
• If there are insufficient funds in the account, and the cash withdrawal is made from your SGD-denominated account instead, a foreign exchange admin fee of 3.25% will apply.
• An additional service charge, which may vary from bank to bank, may be imposed by the bank which operates the ATM.
• Chinese Yuan Offshore (CNH) is not available for purchase or cash withdrawal transactions.
