CoNEX Healthcare

Established in 2019 by Tan Swee Yen and Shen Nansheng, CoNEX Healthcare developed the PreSAGE system - a thermal imaging device that is designed to help prevent falls among the elderly. PreSAGE has already been installed in several hospitals, nursing homes and residential apartments in Singapore and Thailand, with plans to introduce the system in Malaysia and Australia.

ProfilePrint is founded by Alan Lai in 2018, whose system uses Al-driven profiling and patented fingerprinting technology to assess the quality of food ingredients to help agribusinesses trade more efficiently. With deployments in more than 50 locations across the globe, ProfilePrint aims to revolutionise the onerous processes within the agrifood sector.

Emerging Enterprise Sustainability Award 2023

Recognises emerging enterprises that are capitalising on growth opportunities in the green economy, embedding sustainability in their businesses and leveraging technology and new solutions to drive the change and transition to low-carbon businesses and industries.

N&E Innovations

Spearheaded by Didi Gan and Jaslyn Lee, biosciences firm N&E Innovations develops sustainable solutions to reduce food wastage without the use of chemicals. The formulation, called Vikang99, turns food waste into a non-toxic and biodegradable antimicrobial agent that can be applied onto surfaces to eliminate bacteria. Its range of hand sanitisers and disinfectants is now available at Tangs, Takashimaya, Lazada and Shopee.

REDEX Group

REDEX operates Asia’s leading trading platform for renewable energy certificates (RECs), matching suppliers with buyers who wish to reduce their carbon footprint using RECs. It has recently launched the ‘REConnect’ app in Singapore, allowing users to earn income from RECs generated by their rooftop solar installations. REDEX hopes to expand to the Middle East and Latin America to facilitate the development of these emerging renewable energy markets.

Flex Fuel Hydrogen Development (Flex Fuel)

Hong Kong-based Flex Fuel is set up in 2016 and specialises in researching and developing hydrogen production equipment to provide customised energy solutions. One such product is a hydrogen injection machine that cleans diesel engines without the use of harmful chemicals, reducing fuel and carbon emissions. Currently, Flex Fuel has around 3,000 carbon-cleaning machines installed around the world.

Most Promising Sustainability Startup Award 2023

Recognises emerging sustainability enterprises with a strong startup spirit. These are startups that have developed a unique and commercially viable idea, which has the potential to be sustained in the long run.

NEU Battery Materials

Founded in 2019 by two friends – Bryan Oh and Kenneth Palmer – NEU Battery Materials is a Singapore startup that commercialised a patented technology to extract lithium from old EV batteries. With the increase in EV adoption in Singapore, this clean recycling solution helps to reduce the overall emissions in the transport sector for a greener earth. NEU currently operates a recycling plant in Singapore, which is capable of processing around 180 tonnes of lithium batteries a year.

Aprisium

Singapore startup Aprisium aims to address the global challenges of poor industrial waste management by providing real-time detection of contaminants in factory discharge. Its patented technology allows it to detect a wide range of heavy metals and chemicals, and send early warning alerts to customers. After successfully completing several trials in Singapore, Aprisium has set up its own European headquarters in Sweden and is planning to expand in Australia and the US.
