Awareness is key when it comes to online protection. Stay alert and recognise the tell-tale signs of phishing scams and malware that attempt to trick you into revealing your login credentials for online banking. Please read our tips below to understand more about the tell-tale signs to help you avoid being a victim to such scams.
How to recognise phishing scams and malware
  Phishing emails may contain malicious attachments that have malware embedded.
When the attachments are opened, the malware infects your devices to steal personal information and login credentials.

Tips:
 
1. Look out for fake email addresses. Official email from OCBC always comes from an "@ocbc.com" email address.
2. Do not download or open attachments from suspicious emails.
3. Do not click on hyperlinks from unknown/suspicious source.

Tips:
 
1. Look out for messages that request you to input your log-in credential multiple times.
2. Do not enter OTP when you are repeatedly asked to do so, for transactions which you did not initiate.
3. Look out for a delayed pop-up screen that says that the service is not available.
 
What you should do

Install and maintain the latest anti-virus software on your computer or mobile devices.

 

 

 

 

 
 

 

 

2.

Update us immediately whenever you change your mobile number or contact details.

 

 

 

 
 

 

 

3.

Always type in the URL of OCBC website directly into the browser address bar. Check that the OCBC Online Banking URL is https://internet.ocbc.com/
internet-banking

 

 

 
 

 

 

4.

Do not reveal your Online Banking Access Code, PIN,
One-Time Password (OTP) or hardware token details to anyone.

 

 

 

 
 

 

 

5.

Do not proceed if the message asks you to key in your log-in credential or OTP repeatedly.

 

 

 

 

 
 

 

 

6.

Read the SMS or email alerts from the Bank carefully. Inform us immediately for transactions you did not initiate.

 

 

 

 
 
 
Notice anything unusual? Call us.
 

If you notice or receive any suspicious or unusual emails, messages or websites purporting to be from OCBC Bank, do not proceed further and call us immediately. Please call 1800 PREMIER (773 6437) or (65) 6530 5930 if you’re calling from overseas.
