The Ministry of Health (MOH) and its statutory boards are responsible for the regulation of Singapore’s Healthcare system. All Healthcare facilities in Singapore, such as hospitals, medical centres, community health centres, nursing homes, clinics (including dental clinics), and clinical laboratories (including x-ray laboratories) are required to apply for licence under the Private Hospitals & Medical Clinics (PHMC) Act/Regulations. Under the PHMC Act/Regulations, all Healthcare facilities are required to maintain a good medical and clinical service standards.
Patients from all over the world can easily communicate with doctors as English is one of Singapore’s official languages. Some private clinics also offer translation services for patients who speak none of Singapore's four official languages.
Singapore’s healthcare system is designed to ensure that everyone has access to different levels of healthcare in a timely, cost-effective and seamless manners.
